my queen's birthday weekend was spent exploring highway 35 between whakatane & gisborne. if you ever get the chance to drive this road, i highly recommend it. after travelling some 926km in a mere 2 1/2 days i returned home experiencing a combination of exhaustion & exhilaration... my body wanted to sleep but my mind was alive savouring every single aspect of the epic journey.
there is something refreshing about being in the back of beyond... my love for the new zealand landscape has been rekindled ...& the simplistic, resourceful nature of the 'east-capers' way of life has inspired me.
so whilst i am feeling all patriotic & newly enthused i want to share this photo with you all... & it's quite fitting giving Foxton Fizz's recent resurgence in the media. it's from Stack's refurbishment of Air New Zealand's - The Aviation Institute.

this weekend you'll find me fossicking in the second-hand stores, i'll be on a mission to find old crates... i've got a seating dilemma that needs solving... & i think i know just the answer.
